  • On Sunday, 31st July, I had my 70th Birthday Party & Barbeque. After a week of rainy days, I had great faith in my Accuweather.com forecast of overcast morning followed by sunny intervals in the afternoon, and it turned out to be spot on. After a cool start (handy for setting everything up) it ended up warm and sunny the rest of the day.

Volleyball, table tennis, pool, Wallhooky, boules, there was lots for the young and not so young to do between eating, drinking, catching up and reminiscing.

Pics below show one of the food tables, Adam in charge of the barbeque, grandkids Jake and Dan on the pool table and three of the oldies showing they know how to enjoy themselves !

  • Belated 70th birthday wishes.

  • Belated Happy 70th Birthday Jon!

Is ur b’day really on July 31?  Then u share ur b’day wif Harry Potter and his creator JK Rowling yeah?

Great looking spread!  Looking @ it is making my tummy growl.. cool pool table too.

Regarding Singaporeans, yes they’re behaved when it comes to not littering cos’ it involves paying a fine if u do litter.  Maybe they’re taking out their frustrations regarding fines or they’re just showing their true colours when they behave badly on the roads.

Their road manners are in stark contrast to what I experienced in the UK in 1998.  I remember being very impressed by motorists who made way so that a lane appeared in the middle of the 2-lane street (making it 3-laned) so that an ambulance could pass through.  Over here, the ambulance siren is of no use cos’ I dun see anyone making way. Although I was on a motorbike, I risked my butt by stopping so that the ambulance could finally make a turn because every car in front of me went on their way ignoring the ambulance’s “pleas” to be able to pass.

Singaporeans do haf their good points but driving courtesy is definitely NOT one of them.
